Quaint Romantic Quotient meets Luxurious Setting at Udaipur

Udaipur was tagged as ‘the most romantic spot on the continent of India’ by Colonel James Tod in 1892, the East India Company’s first Political Agent in the region!

Often considered as Venice of the East, Udaipur is an enchanting city replete with picturesque destinations and majestic establishments. Azure waters, white sands and regal mansions transform this regular rustic destination to a wonderland visit. Shimmering lake Pichola and edgy wooded Aravalli frame this stunning town. The grandeur and opulence of the bygone era is well dictated by its charming natural beauty and beautifully crafted man-made creations. Dreamy palaces, mighty temples built by Rajput kings, havelis with fantastic and beautifully decorated turrets, balconies that remind one of fairy tales, overlooking narrow lanes and colorful, twisted streets add a yesteryears’ mystic feel in today’s chaotic tourist hub.

Once the jewel of Mewar and ruled by Sisodia dynasty, the city today witnesses a scenario of stark visual contrasts. Where there are majestic monuments situated on plateaus dictating tales of heroic past, every other structure is almost a hotel or a shop or better still, a travel agency! Honking vehicles, swarms of people and herds of donkeys compete to move in narrow lanes, while tranquil lakes and romantic backdrops are waiting to lure your heart away. The ambience set by the beautiful odyssey of history, nature and urbane mood is spellbinding, leaving any visitor awe-inspired. Colorful arts, monotone structures; bustling places, serene destinations; ancient bazaars and plush palatial hotels – Udaipur is the best of destinations any traveler can ever dream of.
