Jaisalmer  is also named as  "The Golden city", it is a city in the Indian stateof Rajasthan.

Jaisalmer fort-This is a living fort and about a quarter of city's population still live inside the fort. The main attractions inside the fort are Raj Mahal, Jain temples and the Laxminath temple.

Deser festival  is held for three days in January/February every year. This is the best time to visit Jaisalmer to witness performing arts like Kalbelia dances and folk songs and music.

Jaisalmer is one of the most preferred event organizing destination in Rajasthan.T,V shows like Rodies, Balika vadhu, Maharana pratap, and several movies were shot in various locations.

Jaisalmer, being an arid desert region, is prone to extremes in terms of temperature. The temperature varies greatly from day to night in both summer and winter. The maximum summer temperature is around 49 °C (120 °F) while the minimum is 25 °C (77 °F).


Among the widely spoken languages of Jaisalmer, Rajasthani is the most popular one. A large number of people also speak in Hindi. Along with the local language, some people speak and write Urdu
